Ann Whitaker’s Retirement Celebration
Sunday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall
The Rev. Ann Whitaker will be retiring from St. Peter’s on February 13th. Please join us at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 11 in the Parish Hall as we celebrate Ann’s ministry and wish her well in her next life journey of retirement. In lieu of a purse, Ann has requested that donations be made in her honor to Heifer International, an organization that is near and dear to her heart. The website is https://www.heifer.org.
We will have an area set up in the Parish Hall next week where you can also leave a donation in the form of a check, with “Ann Whitaker’s retirement” written on it.
Confirmation
The Bishop’s visitation is on Sunday, April 22, 2018. This year, we will make the Sacrament of Confirmation available to students, 7th grade and up, and to all adults who are new to the Episcopal Church. The youth will join with the adults for Confirmation prep through Lent and early-Eastertide. We will have 7 sessions (2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 4/8, and 4/15) on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall, which will focus on what makes us unique in the Body of Christ as Episcopalians. You may resister for Confirmation through the link below. Christina Rutland, our Youth and Young Adult Minister, will follow up with more details on the schedule, format, and expectations of this program for our youth. Please contact the Rev. Jody Burnett or Kara Howland with any questions.

Rise and Shine Breakfast Ministry
If you are interested in preparing and serving a free meal on either a Monday or Thursday during the Spring, contact Lynn Wells or Ed Sisson. We have about 20 volunteers at this time; but, we need at least 10 more. The commitment would be for an hour and a half on either Monday or Thursday every other week from Ash Wednesday until the end of the U of MS school year in early May.
The shifts are as follows: Cooks 6:00-7:00; Set up and greet 6:30 – 8:00; Greet and Clean up 7:30 – 9:00; Food buyers would have needed supplies in kitchen on Sunday and Wednesday evening prior to the breakfasts. There will be four teams of seven volunteers. We understand that you may have to miss one or more of your assigned days. We only ask that you arrange for a substitute and let the other team members know that you will not be there and that your substitute will be there in your place.
If you can’t volunteer but would like to help with this ministry financially, contact the Rev. Jody Burnett in the church office.
