Children's Ministry
at St. Peter's Episcopal Church
St. Peter’s has a vibrant children’s ministry program, incorporating formation, fellowship, and service opportunities. We strive to teach our youngest parishioners about the good news of Jesus Christ through gathering in intentional community, connecting Holy Scripture to our daily lives, and supporting others. Below are some ways your child can become involved.
Sunday Morning Children’s Offerings
-
Children's Liturgy
Children gather during the first half of the 9::00 a.m. service to learn primarily about Jesus, but also about our liturgy—lectionary years and seasons, customs and colors, postures and prayers. They join their families in the Nave during the Peace to participate in Holy Communion.
-
Sunday Formation
Formation takes place after the 9:00 a.m. service during the school year. Children in PreK-5th grades are grouped by ages for fun and interactive lessons on Holy Scripture.
-
Nursery
Childcare is available during worship and formation, ensuring parents can fully participate in our community while knowing their small children are being cared for in a loving environment.
Wednesday Evening Children’s Offerings
-
Children's Choir
Children in grades 2-6 rehearse from 4:45 p.m until 5:30 p.m. during the school year. Our Children’s Choir sings at our 9:00 a.m. service several time a year.
-
Episcopal Kids Community (EKC)
Children in 2nd-5th grades gather at 5:30 p.m. for lessons, prayer, games, crafts, and monthly service projects. They are guided in these efforts by trained St. Peter’s youth and college students.

Building Community, Transforming Young Lives
At St. Peter’s, we strive to make every moment of your child's experience meaningful. Our children’s programs are not just about learning; they are about fostering lasting friendships, nurturing the seeds of faith, and, most importantly, helping them understand God’s love for them. We invite your family to join us on this wonderful journey of discovery and growth.
